Economic Development and Infrastructure meeting this Wednesday, December 17th

A Note from Congressman Artur Davis

As we look to the 111th Congress, I anticipate that there will be several opportunities for me to offer input on various infrastructure investment proposals related to the Economic Recovery package, FY 2010 Appropriations Bill as well as the Transportation Bill. In advance of these opportunities, I would like to invite you to a meeting that I am hosting next week in Birmingham.

This meeting will be an opportunity for me to hear from elected officials, economic developers, business leaders, and other stakeholders in the 7th Congressional District regarding infrastructure needs in your communities and other opportunities for economic growth. The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, December 17th from 2:30 pm – 4:30 pm at the law offices of Balch and Bingham on the 15th floor of AmSouth Harbert Plaza (address below).
AmSouth Harbert Plaza
Balch and Bingham, 15th Floor
1901 Sixth Avenue North, Suite 1500
Birmingham, AL 35203

Should the new administration offer opportunities for infrastructure development and jobs creation as part of an economic stimulus effort, I want to ensure that communities in the 7th Congressional District are prepared to take advantage of these prospects. We need to make certain that our district has well-thought out projects that are ready to execute on day one.

Thank you for your time. Please RSVP to my Special Projects Coordinator, Sissy Hembree, at (205) 254-1960 by Monday December 15th to confirm your attendance.

Artur Davis
Member of Congress
