Eufaula; Apr. 4-6
“Alabama’s Oldest Tour of Homes” features tours, historic memorabilia,
an art show, antique show, afternoon tea, a Picnic on the Porch and a
display of a rare book collection at the Eufaula Athenaeum.

Mobile Challenge of Champions Track Meet
Mobile; Apr. 4-5
One of the top high school track and field meets in the U.S., featuring
some of the top prep track and field athletes from around the country.

Red Snapper World Championship
Orange Beach; Apr. 4-May 26
The World’s Largest Bottom-Fishing Tournament will kick off on April 21
out of Orange Beach, Gulf Shores and Dauphin Island. The tournament
only costs $5 per day per angler with each angler having a chance to
win over $550,000 in cash prizes. Participants can purchase tickets at
any tackle shop or marina in Orange Beach, Gulf Shores or Dauphin

Cabela’s Crappie USA Invitational Tournament

Sheffield; Apr. 12
Anglers compete for the chance to fish in the Crappie Classic. Weigh-in, 3 p.m.

Bama Theatre’s 70th Anniversary Celebration
Tuscaloosa; Apr. 11-12
Join the Arts and Humanities Council of Tuscaloosa County for the 70th
Anniversary Celebration of the historic Bama Theatre, 600 Greensboro
Ave., in downtown Tuscaloosa. Completed in 1938, the Bama is the only
“atmospheric” theater in the state of Alabama. It serves as a showcase
for all of the arts in West Alabama with film, theater, music, visual
arts, dance and literary events occuring throughout the year.

Pro Classic
Dothan; Apr. 20-27
In 2001, the United States Tennis Association selected Dothan to host
one of its professional circuit events: The Women’s $25,000 Challenger
Event. Now as a $75,000 Women’s Challenger Event, in 2008 it will
return to Dothan for the eighth straight year. Held each year at the
Westgate Tennis Center, the tournament includes a Pro-Am, Lessons for
Kids, School Field Trips, City Challenges and the spectacular play of
over 50 professional women competing for the purse of $75,000. Sponsors
and spectators can take in play during the day and enjoy competitive
feature matches at night along with special dining events.

Honda Superbike Classic
Birmingham; Apr. 18-20
Join us for the 6th annual AMA Superbike Championship double-header at
the world-renowned Barber Motorsports Park. The AMA Superbike
Championship stands as the world’s premier national superbike series,
and tours with the AMA Pro Honda Oils Supersport Championship and two
additional top-caliber bike classes: AMA Repsol Lubricants Superstock
and the AMA Lockhart Phillips Formula Xtreme series. The AMA Superbike
Championship and support classes are defined by some of the closest and
most heated competition in Motorsports.

“Rocket City”
Montgomery; Apr. 18-May 18
As the U.S. enters the Cold War, a brash Army major moves famed German
rocket scientist Werner Von Braun and his team to Huntsville, Alabama.
Sparks fly when a young Jewish woman becomes aware of Von Braun’s Nazi
past and attempts to lead public outcry against the project. A Southern
Writers’ Project World Premiere inspired by true events.

Olympic Trials in Triathlon & Elite Race
Tuscaloosa; Apr. 19-20
Tuscaloosa will be the site of the Olympic Triathlon Trials, which will be televised live on MSNBC.

Aaron’s Dream Weekend: NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
Talledega; Apr. 25-27
A weekend of exciting racing action featuring Aaron’s 312 NASCAR Busch
Series race on Saturday and the Aaron’s 499 NASCAR Sprint Cup Series
race on Sunday.
