Household Water Well System Grants

USDA Rural Development is making available Household Water Well System Grant program, a program that provides financial assistance through non-profit organizations to rural residents in order to drill water wells. Grants may be made available to qualified non-profit organizations to establish lending programs for household water wells. USDA does not provide funds directly to property owners under this program. Non-profit organizations must use the grants to make loans to individual homeowners to construct or upgrade household water well systems. The non-profit groups must contribute at least 10 percent of the grant request to capitalize the loan fund.
 
Applications must be received by May 31, 2009.
